Menopause is not a disease. It is part of woman's journey in life when she gets older.

Menopause is defined as occurring 12 months after your last menstrual period and marks the end of menstrual cycles. Your ovaries stop releasing eggs, estrogens and progesterone. This creates a hormone imbalance that can lead to many complicated changes. Menopause can happen in your 40s or 50s, but the average age is 51. Symptoms of menopause can include abnormal vaginal bleeding, hot flashes, vaginal and urinary symptoms, and mood changes. Complications that women may develop after menopause include osteoporosis and heart disease.

The following have been found to be an ideal way of combating all those nasty side effects on Menopause and give you back a healthy happy life.

Eat soy • Eat some tofu every day. Tofu is high in phytoestrogens—compounds with mild estrogen-like qualities that have been found to ease menopausal symptoms.
